Monthly magazines have a three-month lead time, so that means that a celeb’s interview could be awkwardly obsolete by the time the mag hits stands. Case in point: Ariana Grande, who made the mistake of gushing about her first date with ex Nathan Sykes in her interview with Cosmopolitan…but now the couple is kaput.
“We were going back to his hotel to watch a movie, and he had Ladurée macarons and sunflowers waiting—I love Parisian baked goods, and sunflowers are my favorite flower,” she tattled. “He had taken the DVD player out of the bedroom and into the living room, because he said he didn’t want to take me into the bedroom on the first date.”

Cute, I suppose. Although my dates know that if I love Parisian confections, they take me to Paris. They don’t take me to the living room.
But whatever darlings, the point of all this is that Ari and NS are totes over, and I hear it’s because their busy schedules never allowed them the chance to have another mostly-boring date, despite what Ariana told Teen Vogue in their new February 2014 issue in another awkwardly outdated interview that isn’t even available yet:
“It’s not as tough as people would think [to see each other],” she chirped. “We have the same music manager, so we can see each other’s schedules and plan little trips as often as we can.”

Hopefully Ariana learned her lesson that blabbing too much about a BF–no matter what kind of Macaron sugar high you’re on–is a bad idea unless you are 110% sure that the romance will survive until press time.
