Be careful what you wish for, darlings. For ages I’ve been moaning about Ariana Grande needing to change up her go-to look: a poufy dress and half-up hair. Well minions, Ari seemed to have heeded my advice and tried out a new look at last night’s Kid’s Choice Awards. The result?
Huh. So this is what Ari looks like sans her usual style. There are certain things I love about this look, so let’s start there. For one, the hue of her Aiisha Ramadan dress is perfectly on trend and on season, so bravo for that. Also, while I am rarely in favor of embellishing a Chanel anything, the Nickelodeon graffiti on her clutch is cute and perfect for this event.
However. I don’t feel that this dress does anything for AG’s figure, do you? It makes her look boyish and a bit blocky, and her shoes are clunky and sort of whateverish. Also, while I appreciate her trying to switch up her hairstyle–really Ari, I do–the way she has her extensions pinned just looks awkward. A ponytail, bold lip and statement necklace would’ve jazzed this outfit up a bit, don’t you think?
