No one’s ever accused Ariana Grande of being overly original (enough with the white nails please, it’s not 2013 anymore), but there’s an Australian band, SAFIA, who is telling anyone who will listen that AG stole their concept for her “One Last Time” video.

They seem to think that her vid and theirs are eerily similar, and I can’t help but agree.
But oh gee, what’s that down at the bottom? A comment suggesting that it is in fact SAFIA who is the original thief, stealing the concept from a band called Injured Ninja for their video for (I wish this song name was a joke) “Fallopian Tube Screamer.”
Ariana’s director, Max Landis, also picked up on this and called out SAFIA on Twitter:

Surprise, surprise, SAFIA backed off in a major way, issuing some namby-pamby Facebook message along the lines of “Heeeyyy not like we care or anything and it’s a coincidence I’m sure lol!”
But riddle me this, darlings: Do you think that Ariana’s director purposely copped SAFIA’s vid precisely because SAFIA had already stolen it? Did Max Landis already have his “you can’t steal from a thief” excuse in his back pocket in case he got called out? Do you even think that AG’s vid is anything like the other two or does “artistic overlap” sometimes happen?
