Loose lips sink ships, darlings, especially in Hollywood. I hear that all the in-fighting and behind-the-scenes dramz on the set of Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy’s show Sam & Cat has resulted in the series getting cancelled after just one season.
The network didn’t say much officially about the cancellation, simply releasing a statement, “Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of Sam & Cat. We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them the best.”
Meanwhile Ariana posted a long-winded Tweet about the show’s demise.
“I felt it wasn’t my place to make any sort of announcement so I kept quiet until now. I want to thank Nickelodeon for making a childhood dream of mine come true, for being a family to me, for being so accommodating and supportive of my multitasking with my music career, and for of course introducing me to many of my fans however many years ago.”
Notice anyone missing from that list of thank yous? That’s right: her costar. Not only did AG not mention JM anywhere in her goodbye missive, but not even Jennette has commented on the show’s end. Tres strange darlings, don’t you think?
Tell me what you think really happened BTS over at S&C? Do you think the network was right to nix the series and let Ariana bloom into a full-fledged pop star by herself? And what will become of Jennette? Will she vanish into oblivion or become a household name too?
